Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin Bin Abdul Karim is a highly respected corporate figure who has headed a long list of respected companies and government bodies in Malaysia.  Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin holds a BSc. (Hons) Civil Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute Of Science and Technology, UK as well as a Master of Science in Structural Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California.

He was awarded the Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Honorary Doctorate of Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for his significant contributions to the construction and engineering industries in Malaysia.

Other significant achievements include being awarded a Fulbright Hayes Fellowship, Eisenhower Fellowship and British High Commissioner’s Chevening Scholar. 

Dato’ Sri Ir. Dr. Judin is currently the Executive Vice President Special Projects of Malaysian Resources Corporation Berhad (MRCB) and the Chairman of MRCB Builders Sdn Bhd, which is one of Malaysia’s largest construction companies, as well as MRCB-George Kent Sdn Bhd. The latter has been appointed as the Project Delivery Partner for the Light Rail Transit (LRT) 3 project in Malaysia. He also holds the position of Chairman in CIDB Holdings Sdn Bhd.

  • Advised acquisition of group of Malaysian companies by a Japanese private equity fund, which involved the conduct of legal due diligence and preparation of relevant transaction documents;

With PhD and Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Swinburne University Melbourne, Dr. Muiz combines profound academic knowledge with hands-on industry experience, making him a pillar in the field of sustainability. His career commenced in Melbourne in 2001, where he served as a researcher and lecturer at Swinburne University. By 2006, he transitioned into environmental consultancy roles with notable firms such as NDY and SBE, cementing his expertise in sustainable practices. Upon returning to Malaysia in 2009, Dr. Muiz joined Open University Malaysia as a Senior Lecturer and later became a research fellow at the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERI) at UKM, where he contributed to the R&D of applied solar systems for community applications.
 
Dr. Muiz’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish an ESD consultancy firm, GEDS, in 2011, which evolved into GEDS Group Holdings in 2014. His foresight led to the formation of Ecodwell Ventures in 2019, a consortium specialized in modular and mobile housing, as well as solar PV energy services. His expertise was acknowledged by the state government of Johor in 2017, appointing him to develop and implement a blueprint for Biodegradable and Compostable Food Packaging. Additionally, he took on the role of subject matter expert for waste-to-wealth projects in Johor in 2018, showcasing his multifaceted skill set.
 
Dr. Muiz’s consultancy acumen was further solidified through collaborations with Group 27 Advisory. Together, they developed pivotal blueprints, including the 4IR Roadmap for the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MEA) in 2019 and the Low Carbon Society for Iskandar Malaysia 2030 Blueprint in 2022. In 2019, he expanded his domain, serving as the Financial Director for Lancelot Investment International Ltd, advising on large-scale RE projects throughout the APAC region.

Prof. Asirvatham has been deeply involved in advancing artificial intelligence and related emerging technologies through research, development, and professional leadership. He has supervised numerous postgraduate research projects in AI, machine learning, and smart systems. For example, he supervised work on an AI-based facial expression recognition model, an automatic speech recognition system for the Tamil language, IoT-driven smart mobility modeling, and machine-learning techniques for intrusion detection in edge computing environments.
